Patients with mild hemophilia face a distinct set of challenges, including inability to recognize bleeding symptoms, questions surrounding the response to and appropriate use of desmopressin for bleeding episodes as well inhibitor development and treatment. In comparison to severe hemophilia, the course of the disease is less dramatic in mild hemophilia and the life expectancy is very close to that of the normal population. However, hemophiliac caregivers have anecdotally observed that patients with mild hemophilia appear to have a tendency to avoid a consistent relationship with comprehensive care clinics. A discussion of your experiences caring for individuals with mild Hemophilia A would be appreciated.
